Random Road Trips

The Boilermaker

Posted by on July 9, 2012 at 4:50 pm

Angel: I don’t know why, but I have Steppenwolf in my head. “Get you motor running…” maybe it was the fact that I needed to wake up early.  “Head out on the highway”… and that it was hard to get out on the road this particular morning.  “Looking for adventure or what ever comes my [...]

They Say it’s Your Birthday…

Posted by on July 2, 2012 at 4:50 pm

Sean: Alright, so we celebrated our ‘birthday’ back in February, which is when we decided on the idea, purchased the site, and began the building. That all came to fruition on July 1st when we had our official launch party and will have our subsequent anniversaries.

You Spin Me

Posted by on June 11, 2012 at 10:11 pm

Angel: The Spinning Room had us spinning. Let me explain. We headed off on a special trip to knock off another one of the burgers, drove one and a half hours, and we get there and the doors are locked. LOCKED! We call in and, after some questioning, we learn that the kitchen is being [...]

Memorial (and Burger) Day

Sean: We hope everyone had a fun holiday weekend, enjoyed the gorgeous weather, and, most importantly, offered respect and thought to the brave soldiers who died in the US Armed Forces.

St. Baldrick’s and a Burger

Many thanks to everyone who participated and voted for their favorite burger in NY State. Carpe per diem

Angel: I may have been working hard in Boston, but I did get a chance to seize the chance to have some amazing dinners.

A Burger-less Birthday

Posted by on September 26, 2011 at 5:02 pm

Sean: While we still have our return trip from the NY State Fair (and the NYBIC Burger-Off) story to post, we decided to take a break from it this week and move to something more important, my birthday. Well, partially that and partially because with the way some of the events on our return trip [...]

A Fair Day

Posted by on September 7, 2011 at 2:25 pm

Angel: I’ve been to local 4-H Fairs, flea markets and carnivals, but nothing really preps you for the shear magnitude of a state fair. Sean tried to tell me it was about the size of a Six Flags amusement park, but with farm animals. That isn’t too far off the mark, but I do have [...]

Going out to pasture

Posted by on August 22, 2011 at 1:15 pm

Angel: On the road again, this time to VT.  After finding a recent article about a small community of farmers pulling together for burgers and music every Friday, I quickly realized  summer was almost over and it was now or never (or at least, not until next year). The plan was to drive 3 hours [...]
