Angel: Feb 10th was the Chinese New year and Feb 12 was Mardi Gras. Which do we celebrate? BOTH! Well, sort of. Our first stop wasn’t quite Chinese food (we are burger lovers, after all), it was an American pub grub with an Asian flare, Social Eatz. It’s a small midtown spot with a small [...]
Angel: When the temps drop, we think burgers. Well, we’re always thinking burgers, but Burger Conquest REALLY got us thinking about burgers when they announced their 3rd annual Polar Brrger Club, Shake Shack in the park in the snow… a man whose thinking is right up our alley.
Angel: I recently enjoyed Chinese food and my fortune cookie said, “You are a bundle of energy, always on the go.” I’m not sure about the energy part, but, yes, I’m always on the go. This past week i have been in sunny California, at the Terranea Resort. I love to travel and I love [...]
Angel: The annual NY Best Burger Contest is back and we, at 50 Burgers Or Bust, have been asked to judge again. How it works: Starting Feb 1st and ending on March 15th, you vote for your favorite burger in NY state (look for the link in next week’s post!). Votes will be tailed and [...]

Their clam is that they recreate your backyard burger, which, being the middle of winter, I appreciated… now, if it were the middle of summer, I might wonder. With 3.5 stars from Yelp, my hopes [...]
As one more year comes to a close, we took another hard look and put together the best burger and a few memorable places and experiences we’ve enjoyed in 2012.
Angel: I learned in school that sweet, salty, bitter, and sour are the regions of your tongue. I have come to find out that, a fifth region has been discovered, and it could explain why I like Umami (named after the savory taste) in Croton, NY (www.umamicafe.com) so much.
Angel: It has been described as biblical… well, lets see about that. Topping many “best of” burger lists in Jersey and having been brought up in many conversations, White Manna has been on the tip of our tongues for many trips.
Angel: Why ‘Surprise!’ you ask? Well, for a few different reasons. First of all, we went back to New Jersey, Westwood, something that is even a shocker to us. Secondly, we visited a place called The Iron Horse which, for me, brings on images of Harleys riding down Route 66. When we arrived, there was [...]
We hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with good times with family and friends and enjoyed great food.
